Throwaway Holder Assembly
The throwaway holder assembly is a disposable unit that features a rupture disc sealed between brass fittings. After an overpressure condition, the entire assembly can be quickly removed and replaced with a new assembly. The Throwaway Holder Assembly is a sealed, disposable unit for use in systems where pressures do not exceed 3,000 psig (207 barg).
Our throwaway units are meticulously manufactured with accuracy and reliability in mind. Before shipping, we inspect every throwaway holder with an ultrasonic thickness gauge.
Throwaway units are often found on gas bottles, air conditioning systems, refrigeration units, hydraulic accumulators, gas cylinders, portable compressed air systems, and laboratory equipment.
Throwaway assemblies are available with standard or composite rupture discs. Contact us if you aren’t sure which best fits your application.
Maximum pressure:
Type 1: 3,000 psig (207 barg), compatible with standard rupture discs
Type 2: 1,000 psig (68,9 barg), compatible with standard or composite
rupture discs
Sizing details:
Standard rupture disc sizes: 1/2″, 3/4″, or 1″
Composite flat seat rupture disc sizes: 11/16″
Inlet sizes: 1/4″, 3/8″, 1/2″, 3/4″, or 1″ male pipe threads
Outlet sizes: Available in various configurations to match the requirement of

Rupture Discs.
Maximum temperature: Dependent on the temperature limitations of the rupture disc and holder. When determining the maximum temperature for your use, use the lesser limit of the two.
